Ahhh Christmas is almost here! As the shopping is beginning to dwindle (unless you totally procrastinate haha), this is the third and final gift guide I am sharing for this holiday season. If you missed my holiday gift guide for fitness instructors or runners, be sure to check them out!
Honestly, whether you use these gift guides to shop for someone else or just for yourself, I’m really enjoying sharing some of my favorite things with you! I’m like your own personal Yelp or Amazon review system. Only with more personality.
So here they are, my gift recommendations for the fitness lover in your life. Click each picture for a link to purchase. And if you’re looking for gift ideas for yourself and see something you like, just leave this window open on your computer for Santa to find. 😉
A Few of My Favorite Things
BOSU Balance Trainer
This one has been on my list for quite a while, and I know some of my fit friends have had their eyes on it as well! The BOSU is sooo much fun to work with, and really adds that extra challenge of balance to your workouts! Balance training strengthens your core and helps you to stay fit (and safe) even as you get older. Read more about that on the BOSU site. And can you imagine how much your kiddos would love to exercise with one of these? I’ll admit, I’m a bit partial to the pink version. Haha I’m such a girl, I know.
Fitbit Activity Tracker
This is a little gadget that I haven’t been able to play with yet, but many of my friends have it and love it! Even my boyfriend had a Fitbit, and he didn’t share the love. I like my Polar Heart Rate monitor for when I’m in my group fitness classes, and I like my Garmin GPS tracker when I go out for a long run, but I’d love to be able to monitor my steps and activity throughout the rest of the day. And being able to know what my sleep patters are like would be pretty interesting too! This purple color is just too cute. Again — GIRL. Big girly girl over here.
This is the exact weight bench I have at home, and I love it. Nothing fancy, no bells and whistles, but it’s exactly what I need when doing bench presses, incline presses, step up/downs, tricep dips, etc. I realize I have a free membership to three different gyms, and I could spend a lot less and use an inflatable ball instead, but this weight bench is worth the investment for me. I can stay home (especially on super snowy days like today) and get a good strength workout whenever I want. In my pajamas. With dirty hair and no shoes. If I want to. Just sayin’.#Holiday Gift Guide for Fitness Lovers! Treat yo' self. Click To Tweet
Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells
I bought these weights last summer when I moved into a tiny two-bedroom apartment with my kiddos. I debated over the purchase, and finally decided I would just go ahead and buy them. I had been hemming and hawing over it since I saw Chalene using them in ChaLEAN Extreme when I started that program in March 2013. It just felt so expensive to spend over $200 on weights at once! But then I realized the value I was getting — dumbbells that ranged from 5 pounds to 52.5 pounds, with the ability to increase in 2.5 and 5 pound increments as I gained strength. Can you imagine how much it would cost to buy two dumbbells each of 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 pounds…and so on up to 52.5?? When weights typically cost about $1 per pound, that cost adds up quickly. And all those weights would take up SO much space, while these are easily stored in the corner next to my TV stand. Hands down, one of the best fitness purchases I’ve ever made.
This video just speaks for itself. If nothing else, it’s great entertainment, right?? My son loves to workout with me and I love that he is motivated to be fit! But aside from that, this home workout program is my absolute favorite. I have completed more Beachbody DVD programs than I can even count right now, but none compare to this one. It is intense strength training and in just two weeks of following this program I can already see my strength improving. Be on the lookout for my results to be posted at the beginning of February, but don’t wait until then to try it! Get it now and join me so we can get hammered and chiseled together!
One of my awesome friends, Allyson, gave me a similar fit journal a few months ago. I fell in love with it immediately and enjoy writing my daily goals and reflections in it. Unfortunately, that particular style isn’t available online — but this fit journal is a great alternative from the same company. Use it to track your progress and see how far you’ve come!
ToiletTree Callous Remover
Well if there was ever a non-sexy fitness gift list, this would probably be near the top. But let’s be honest: when we spend so much time wearing our smelly gym shoes, running and biking, squatting and lunging…our feet need a little bit of attention. And yes ladies, we all know you get callouses. My feet take a beating with all I put them through and they are NOT pretty. But I love this little toy and I enjoy a little extra time pampering myself after a hot bath. Pair this with a foot soak, some lotion, and some of those soft fuzzy socks and this baby would make any fitness junkie happy. (Maybe throw in a nice foot massage as well? Oh yeah. I just helped you earn serious brownie points.)
Well, I saved the most expensive one for last. If you’re like me, you are probably thinking that this is a ridiculous cost for a blender and no way would you ever spend that much on…well…a BLENDER. Yeah, I know. I felt the same way. I had a $100 Ninja blender that worked just fine and I thought THAT was a splurge. That’s until I got my Vitamix for Christmas two years ago. Even when I opened it, I had two thoughts: 1. Did I seriously just get a flipping BLENDER for Christmas??!, and 2. Whyyyy did he spend so much on a blender when we have one that works perfectly fine??! And then I used it. I can’t even describe the difference between a regular blender and a Vitamix. It’s so smooth. It’s so efficient. I can make shakes and smoothies and soup and sauce and all kinds of things! And it comes with a nice warranty that helps you to feel a little better about investing in this powerful machine. If you’ve never tried a Vitamix, I think it’s an experience you need to have. But I’ll warn you — you can kiss the days of using a $30 blender goodbye.
While I could go on and on with other great gift ideas, I’ll stop here for now. But a few of my friends have shared some fitness gift guides of their own, so check out their lists for more FITspiration!
