As I was driving home from work and munching on a few Swedish Fish (don’t judge), I remembered that I needed to take my vitamins. True story.
I have never been that great at taking vitamins. I have vivid memories of being a kid forced to chew my Flintstone vitamins. I haaaated them and no matter how good my mom told me they were supposed to taste, I thought they tasted like a chalky lump of vomit.
Fast forward to my adult years, and I almost never remember to take vitamins. I almost never remember to take any medicines or supplements for that matter – which is why antibiotics don’t get finished on time, there are leftover birth control pills at the end of the month, and I struggle to get my vitamin D high enough to be in the average range. There’s just something about swallowing a pill that turns me off, and I end up putting it off until it’s the next day and then the cycle starts all over again.
But back to the Swedish Fish. Those, in case you didn’t know, taste nothing like a chalky lump of vomit.
I love gummies. I might tell you that I’m buying the Frozen or Minecraft shaped fruit gummies for my kids, but chances are that I’m going to end up eating a pack or three myself. They are just so good! It makes sense that I also enjoy eating Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids, and Jelly Belly beans. Fruity flavored chewy goodness in my mouth. Yes please! So when I had the opportunity to try out SmartyPants vitamins and give my honest review, I jumped at the chance.
DISCLAIMER (while obvious, I feel it is necessary): I am NOT categorizing a vitamin or supplement as a candy. They are very different things and vitamins should not be eaten in excess of the recommended amount. Use as directed.
The thing is, I don’t really dread chewing a gummy vitamin. And since I’ve been pregnant, my nutrition has been FAR from what my body needs. I’ve eaten whatever my tummy could tolerate, and that has included fruit, salads, ice cream, cupcakes, fries…you get the picture. Yes, I do eat nutritious foods when I can, but I struggle to get in everything that little Noodle and I need to stay on top of our game. That’s why vitamins are SO important in my life, and in most people’s lives as well.
Even better than getting my recommended amount of vitamins, SmartyPants also gives a healthy dose of Omega 3s. One less supplement I have to take? Holla! I’m all in. They also add extra D3 and B12, two of the vitamins that most people are deficient in – myself included. And yes, I was taking additional vitamin D3 with my multivitamins. So that is THREE supplements that have now been combined into one serving of gummies for me. It just keeps getting better and better!Be a #SmartyPants and #win #TheGoodGummy #vitamins! #sweatpink @smartyhealth Click To Tweet
SmartyPants makes vitamins for women, men, expectant mothers, and kids, too. My kids love the SmartyPants vitamins and don’t complain when I ask them if they’ve had their vitamins for the day. It feels good knowing that I can keep my whole family healthy, including the little one in my tummy.
