In reviewing my 2016 goals recently, I decided that I wanted to start doing monthly check-ins. So today I’m going to review my progress from last month and write up my November goals to work on. I think this will help me to stay more accountable and keep me on track to meet my big goals with baby steps.
For all of my goals that haven’t been met, here’s where I am and where I want to be:
Blog consistently three times per week. I’m doing this one! I have blogged 3x/week for the past two weeks. I’ve also planned out my blog posts for most of November, with 3 posts per week.
November’s goal: Continue blogging consistently and increase my monthly page views to over 1,000.
Earn money from my blog. I’m in the process here. I have a sponsored post that I’m doing this week that pays in product as well as a small commission. I’m not yet earning a consistent income.
November’s goal: Continue working with brands on sponsored content. Research and add one new way to monetize my blog (probably via ads).
Run a race every month. Well, I did run a race in October! My daughter and I ran a virtual 5k, which was really kind of fun. It was very relaxed and we just enjoyed ourselves. The baby still isn’t taking a bottle yet, so I probably won’t register for a “real” race in November. I could see another virtual race in our future, or we may just keep running for fun.
November’s goal: Run a 5k (at least) of some sort before Thanksgiving. Do it without walking, and finish in less than 40 minutes.
Run a half-marathon in less than 2 hours 30 minutes. While this goal isn’t something that will happen this year, it is something I can work toward. I started running in October, but not as much as I need to. I definitely need to start running more NOW, before I start feeling pressured to run my half-marathon in March.
November’s goal: Write out a running schedule, including my strength and stretching workouts. Don’t miss more than 4 planned runs/workouts in the month.
Run 1000 miles in 1 year. I only ran twice in October. This is another goal that isn’t going to be met by the end of the year, but I can make it more achievable. A similar, smaller running goal I’ve seen is running 50 miles in a month. That’s the equivalent of a few 5ks a week, more or less. If I’m staying consistent in my runs and working to increase my mileage, that’s something I can do.
November’s goal: Run 50 miles total, with my shortest run being 2 miles. Speed work and hill repeats count as long as I’m running.
I have another goal that wasn’t part of my 2016 goals that I’d like to add in for November: Whole 30. I’ll be researching and planning meals, recipes, and food plans for the first two weeks in November (follow me on Pinterest if you want my ideas!). I will start eating according to the Whole 30 on November 14, and will stick to my plan for the next 30 days. There *may* be some wine during Thanksgiving, so I’m not going to say with 100% certainty that I will cut it out. I’ll be reasonable in my choices though. You can expect to see some Whole 30 meal plans and recipes shared soon.
What are your goals for November?
