About me

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Amanda. I’m a former special education teacher, and awesome mom to three energetic kids, 16, 8, and 1 year old. I’m also a group fitness instructor and a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

I enjoy running, reading books, and blogging. I also love chocolate, coffee, wine, fancy beer, and long walks on the beach. Not a big fan of sand though. Ew.

This blog began as a way to document my journey with clean eating and fitness as a new lifestyle. I began my journey in March 2013 so that I could feel better about myself and avoid potential health problems – and I am nowhere close to stopping! I have overcome many bumps in the road, learned lots of tips and tricks, and this is my way of sharing what is working for me and my family. It has recently evolved into broader topics that involve my family – because let’s face it, as a mom of 3 my family is a huge part of my life! I still share fitness and health tips, but I also share more about my family and personal things that we do.

My hopes are that this blog allows you to connect with me, and maybe give you some new fun ideas to try. If you need someone to help motivate you with fitness or to answer questions you may have, just reach out to me. Simply email me with any questions about fitness or clean eating and I will do my best to help you! If you are local to the Denver area, I would love to hear from you! And if you’re a runner – let’s go hit a trail!

  • Thank you for making this blog!! I too am doing p90x3 and am on day 8. I love all the tips and recipes you posted! I have done p90x before then on and off. I just finished Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred a month ago and I have kinda hit a plateau. I can do the workouts but they make me so hungry. lol So I have to work on my eating habits. My goal is to tone up and hopefully loose 18-13 lbs. Let week 2 begin!

    • Thank you for your comments! I hope you’ve found something here that will help you. I’d be happy to talk with you more about your nutrition and eating so you can hopefully break your plateau. You can send me an email at askauffeld at gmail dot com or you can friend me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/akauffeld – Congrats with X3!
